Atrial myxoma's embolization and stroke causing aphasia in a bilingual (Persian and Portuguese) Iranian girl: a case report

Case presentation: A 12 years old Iranian girl, who lived in Brazil for 5 previously to the stroke and was bilingual (Persian Portuguese). On October 2016 girl suddenly presented seizures, hemiparesis aphasia. Tests immunological, infectious coagulation diseases were normal; echocardiogram showed a 39 × 17 mm tumor left atrial cavity, that surgically excised 20 days after. The patient came our Rehabilitation Hospital only 6 months later. Her first language Persian, she started learning Portuguese when old. Prior stroke, fluent both languages, either speaking, reading writing. After, developed aphasia facing more problems with her language. In Portuguese, expression aphasia, anomias, semantical, phonemic morphemic paraphasias, besides paralexias paragraphias. Magnetic resonance (08/08/2017) ancient isquemic vascular accident at medial cerebral artery, justifying patient´s Sequential brain images, including tractography study prior 9 after rehabilitation program, initially important reduction number of arcuatus fasciculus, which affects connections primary areas hemisphere, damaged by stroke. Tractography 01/11/2018 small increase right represents neuroplasticity on hemisphere.
